How Much is too Much?

Sometimes people wonder how much concealer they should be using, or how much foundation is too much foundation. Well, this all varies person to person depending on skin type. But regardless, you never want to use too much concealer because it can crease throughout the day, and you don’t want to pack on the foundation and have it look like you have no pores.

Below is a snapshot of how much face product I typically use. My moisturizer is Belif Aqua Bomb and requires a very little amount to hydrate. My face primer is Smashbox’s Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer which also requires a very small amount – you don’t want your face too feel wet! For my Foundation and Concealer I use Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation and the HD Concealer by Make Up Forever.

Primer and Foundation usually require the most product because they cover the entire face with equal coverage everywhere. Unlike concealer which is only for small areas and primer which does not require full coverage!

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!

screen-shot-2017-01-24-at-1-26-22-pmIf you haven’t tried the True Cream Aqua Bomb by belif, I highly suggest you do so ASAP! This gel/cream is by far my favorite skin product. It’s super light weight and doesn’t have a thick or creamy texture like most face moisturizers. It’s more of a gel-based cream that refreshes and hydrates your skin while providing a cooling sensation. It’s the perfect morning face moisturizer to use after you wash your face, because that cooling sensation helps wake you up and feel rejuvenated for the day!

It also works great for minimizing pores and improving skin elasticity. And don’t worry, the True Cream Aqua Bomb works for any type of skin whether you have oily, dry, or combination skin. Don’t take our word for it, try it out!

Cream Lip Stain

My Favorite lip stain/lipstick is Sephora’s Cream Lip Stain. I’ve tried various different brands, both high end and drugstore brands, and Sephora’s is by far my favorite!

This cream lip stain lasts all day through eating meals and drinking multiple coffees a day. It’s a stain so it doesn’t wipe off easy, but it also doesn’t look like it has been painted and dried onto your lips. It’s made with  avocado oil which helps moisturize your lips and actually help generate more skin cells.

These lip stains come in both matte and satin finishes that are long-lasting as well as rich with color! I definitely recommend them, I think my favorite is the Blackberry Sorbet ♥

Steps To The Perfect Wing

Winged eyeliner can be a tricky thing to get right. Sometimes one eye comes out perfect but the other eye looks like you fell face first into a Sharpie marker…

Sometimes one wing is going straight up to your eyebrow while the other wing looks like it is running away to your earlobe..

A lot of people try to get the winged look by flick their eyeliner/brush at the end of the eye. This method leaves a lot of room for error…

The best way to accomplish even winged liner is to actually start at your bottom lash:

  1. Draw a small line from your bottom lash line towards the end of your eyebrow, stopping a third of the way (or however long/short you want the wing)
  2. From the tip of the line, draw a connecting line back towards your top lid (this can be however thick/thin you’d like)
  3. Fill in the open space
  4. Done! The perfect set of wings!

Ready For A Night Out!

You don’t always need a special occasion to get your makeup done and strut your stuff! Sometimes a night out with the girls is exactly what you need, and having your makeup done is the icing on the cake. The beautiful Shannon was pampered and polished before heading into the city – doesn’t she look amazing?!

IMG_0379I used Urban Decay’s Naked Palette 2 on her eyes:

  • Whole lid: half baked
  • Crease: snakebite
  • Outer corners: blackout
  • Inner corners: chopper
  • Brow bone: bootycall
  • Stila Smudge Pot Liner (top lid)
  • Smashbox Always Sharp Eyeliner (water line)
  • Ardell eyelashes – 111 Black
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel

For her beautiful skin I used Debra Macki Sunlit Beige Concealer, Debra Macki Foundation, Too Faced Translucent Powder, & Palladio Baked Blush-Atlantic.

And to top it off, for a subtle lip I used:

  • Debra Macki Lipstick Wink
  • Debra Macki Lip Pencil Le Rose
